Ingredients : ( 1 cup = 240 ml )
- Gram flour / Kadalai maavu - 1 cup
- Rice flour / Arisi maavu - 1/4 cup
- Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Turmeric powder - a pinch
- Onion - 2 tbsp finely chopped
- Curry leaves - 1 tbsp finely chopped
- Green chillies - 1 finely chopped
- Water - as needed
- Baking soda / Soda-bi-carbonate - a pinch
- Oil - for deep frying
- Eggs - 3
- Chaat masala - 1/2 tsp
Method :
- Boil the eggs for 12-15 minutes. Peel and keep aside.
- Take a bowl, add gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, onion, green chilli, curry leaves.
- Add needed water and mix to a smooth batter without any lumps.
- Add baking soda. Mix well.
- The batter should be thick and fluffy.
- Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Take the whole egg drop in batter and coat well with the batter.
- Gently drop in hot oil.
- Cook on medium flame till its cooked, crispy and golden brown in colour.
- Strain from oil and drain excess oil on paper towel.
- Just before serving cut the bondas, sprinkle some chaat masala.
- Serve hot.
