Fish cutlet / Boneless fish cutlet






Preparation time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 15 minutes
Makes : 12 


Ingredients : 
  • Boneless fish - 250 grams
  • Boiled potato - 2 medium sized
  • Onion - 1 ( finely chopped )
  • Green chillies - 2 ( finely chopped )
  • Mint leaves - few chopped
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp 
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • All purpose flour / Maida - 3 tbsp
  • Water - as needed
  • Bread crumbs - 1 cup
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste 
  • Oil - for deep frying 

Method :
  1. In a pan, add fish, turmeric powder and salt. Add sufficient water and boil for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain and shred it.
  3. In a bowl, add shredded fish, boiled and mashed potato, onion, green chillies, mint leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, pepper powder, chaat masala and salt.
  4. Mix well and form as a firm dough.
  5. Take a portion and form as pattice and keep aside.
  6. Take an another bowl, add maida and water and form as a paste. 
  7. Take bread crumbs, red chilli powder and salt mix well and keep aside.
  8. Now take one pattice, dip and coat with maida paste and roll with bread crumbs.
  9. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  10. Add deep fry in hot oil till it turns nice golden brown in colour.
  11. Strain from oil and drain excess oil on paper towel and serve hot.

Note :
  • You can also freeze in zip-lock pouch before frying and store upto 1 month.
  • While needed thaw only required pattice 15 minutes before and shallow fry it.

 pepper powder, chaat masala and salt 

Mix well and form as a firm dough 

Take a portion and form as pattice 

Continue with all 

Take an another bowl, add maida 

Add needed water 

Mix well and form as a paste 

Take bread crumbs 

Add red chilli powder and salt 

Mix well and keep aside 

Take one pattice 

Dip and coat with maida paste

Roll with bread crumbs 

Refrigerate for 30 minutes  

Deep fry in hot oil till it turns nice golden brown in colour 

Strain from oil 

Drain excess oil on paper towel 

Serve hot
