Serves : 5-6 persons
Ingredients : ( 1 cup = 240 ml )
- Mutton pieces - 300 gms
- Oil - 2 tbsp + 1 tsp
- Onion - 1 large chopped
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Tomato - 1 large chopped
- Onion & Tomato paste - 1 cup ( Grind equal quantities of onion and tomato to a paste )
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Kara kulambu masala - 2 tbsp
- Lady's finger / vendakkai / bhindi - 10-12 pieces
- Coconut paste - 1/2 cup ( Grind coconut pieces to smooth paste by adding little water )
- Tamarind water - 1/4 cup
- Coriander leaves - few
Method :
- Clean and wash the mutton pieces.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, Add chopped lady's finger.
- Saute for 5 mins or till it turns slight brown in colour and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Saute onion till it turns soft and pink.
- Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 mins.
- Add mutton pieces. Coat well and cook for 5 mins.
- Add tomato and onion tomato paste. Mix well and cook for 2 mins.
- Now goes chilli powder, coriander powder, kara kulambu masala and salt.
- Mix well and pour 3 cups of water.
- Cover and cook for 4 whistles or till the mutton is cooked.
- Open once the pressure is cooked.
- Add coconut paste, tamarind water and fried lady's finger.
- Mix well and cook for 5-7 mins.
- Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.

Serve hot with rice |
