Pottukadalai chutney






Preparation time : 10 mins
Cooking time : 2 mins
Serves : 2 persons

Ingredients :
  • Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
  • Green chilli - 1 
  • Bengal gram / Pottukadalai - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as needed
For tempering :
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dhal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few

Method :
  1. Take coconut, ginger and green chilli in a mixer grinder. Give a pulse.
  2. Add bengal gram / pottukadalai and salt.
  3. Grind to a fine paste by adding water.
  4. Adjust the consistency.
  5. Heat a tadka pan, add oil, mustard, urad dhal and curry leaves.
  6. Fry for a minute.
  7. And pour over the chutney.
  8. Serve with idli or dosa.

Take coconut, ginger and green chilli in a mixer grinder

Give a pulse

Add bengal gram / pottukadalai and salt

Add water and grind to a smooth paste

Heat tadka pan add oil, mustard, urad dhal and curry leaves.
Fry for a minute

Pour over the chutney

Mix well and serve
