Chicken spring roll






Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 30 minutes
Makes : 6 rolls 


Ingredients : ( 1 cup = 240 ml )

For stuffing :
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 1 cup chopped
  • Capsicum - 1/2 cup chopped 
  • Tomato - 1/2 chopped
  • Boneless chicken - 1 cup cubed 
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste  
  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - few 
For rolls :
  • Spring roll sheets - 6 sheets
  • Maida / All purpose flour - 2 tbsp
  • Water - 3 - 4 tbsp
  • Oil - for deep frying 

Method :
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion, saute till soft and translucent.
  2. Add capsicum, tomato and boneless chicken. Mix well. Cook on low flame till the chicken is half cooked.
  3. Add red chilli powder, pepper powder, garam masala, chaat masala, turmeric powder and salt.
  4. Add tomato ketchup. Mix well. Cover and cook on low flame till the chicken cooked completely. Can sprinkle little water if needed.
  5. Sprinkle coriander leaves. And keep aside.
  6. Mix maida and water to a smooth paste.
  7. Take one spring roll sheet.
  8. Place 2 tbsp of stuffing. Start folding form one edge. 
  9. Fold the other two edges too. 
  10. Apply maida paste on the 4th edge.
  11. Roll and stick well. 
  12. Continue with all.
  13. Deep fry in hot oil till it turns nice golden brown in colour.
  14. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or mint chutney.

Add boneless chicken pieces 

Mix well and cook till the chicken is half done

Add coriander leaves mix well and keep aside  

Mix maida and water. Mix well and form as a paste and keep aside

Take a spring roll sheet

Place 2 tbsp of stuffing 

Start rolling from one edge

Continue rolling 

Fold the other two edges

Roll it again 

Apply maida paste on 4th edge 

Roll and seal well 

Continue with all 

Drop in hot oil. Fry till it turns nice golden brown in colour 

Strain from oil 

Serve hot with tomato ketchup / Mint chutney
